"Where the Spirit & the Soul can Create"

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: How long will it take?
A: For time frame, it really depends on a lot of variables: difficulty of the pattern, difficulty in finding the materials, circumstances unrelated to the actual work (environment), size of order, how many orders came before you, etc. I do my best to get them done as quickly as possible without compromising the quality of the work.

Q: What is a Rush Order?
A: A rush order is one that must be done ahead of another client. (i.e. needed as quickly as possible, meaning that the client who came before you must be put on hold while I work on your order). I work on a first come-first serve basis, since I am only one person. Therefore, there is the rush order charge.

Q: What is an Urgent Order?
A: An urgent order is one that has less than a week for a turn around, regardless if I have other clients before you or not. I advise people not to come to me with urgent orders, because they are stressful to do, and in the short time frame I have to work, expectations aren't always met and there are lots of disappointments. Hems, small alterations and small repairs are not considered urgent orders, and don't take that long to do.

Q: How does this work?
A: It really depends on what you would like to do. If you have the material and the pattern that you want, I can sew it. If you have the pattern but no material, I can get it and add the total cost to the final cost of having the clothes made. If you have it cut out, but no time, I can sew it for you. For reconstruction, if you have the article, I can make another one. Note: There will be a one-time charge added for reproducing clothes which covers the pattern construction and testing.

Q: What is your experience?
A: I have been sewing for 12 years now. Most of my experience is in the off-the-shelf patterns. I also have skills in reconstruction, tailoring, and freehand drafting. As for curtains and upholstery, I have very little. I am not a professional, and I have never claimed to be a professional.

Q: What is a test charge?
A: This is a one-time charge of $15.00 to cover the necessary materials needed in making a usable pattern for making the clothes. To ensure accuracy and quality, I test every pattern I construct from existing clothes and free handed. This is extremely important with resizing reproductions. The test article is usually made out of muslin.

Q: Shipping?
A: For convenience and low costs, any order that goes over 5 lbs will be mailed in USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate Boxes. Any order that is under 5 lbs will be mailed USPS First Class, USPS Parcel Post, or other USPS mail service. Shipping is paid both ways by client.
